Job Description

  • Machine Operation – Operate the Panel Saw machine safely and efficiently as per company procedures and production requirements.
  • Cutting Accuracy – Cut plywood, MDF, HDHMR, particle board and other panels according to approved measurements and cutting lists.
  • Measurement & Marking – Check dimensions, measurements and cutting instructions carefully before starting the cutting process.
  • Machine Setup – Set cutting parameters, blade height, fence, guides and other machine settings according to the required panel size.
  • Quality Control – Ensure all cut panels are accurate, clean and free from unnecessary chipping, damage or defects.
  • Material Handling – Handle sheets and finished panels carefully to prevent breakage, scratches, wastage and damage.
  • Material Wastage Control – Follow cutting plans properly and minimize unnecessary material wastage.
  • Machine Maintenance – Perform routine cleaning, lubrication and basic maintenance of the Panel Saw and report any technical issues immediately.
  • Blade & Tool Care – Check the condition of blades and cutting tools and inform the supervisor when replacement or sharpening is required.
  • Safety Compliance – Follow all safety rules and use required PPE while operating the machine.
  • Production Targets – Complete assigned cutting work within the required production schedule while maintaining quality.
  • Damage Responsibility – Immediately report any machine malfunction, incorrect cutting, material damage or other production issue to the supervisor.
  • Housekeeping – Keep the machine area, workbench and surrounding production area clean and organized.
  • Cutting List Verification – Cross-check the cutting list, drawings and measurements before cutting to avoid errors.
  • Team Coordination – Coordinate with production, carpentry and installation teams regarding cutting requirements and priorities.
  • Record Keeping – Maintain required records of material received, panels cut, wastage and machine-related issues.
  • Following Instructions – Follow instructions given by the Production Manager/Supervisor and work according to company policies.
  • Responsible Use of Company Property – Use machines, tools, materials and other company property carefully and only for authorized work.

 

Technical Skills Required:-

  • Proficiency in operating Panel Saw machines for accurate and efficient panel cutting.
  • Knowledge of cutting plywood, MDF, HDHMR, particle board and laminates.
  • Ability to read and understand cutting lists, measurements and furniture drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of measurement, marking and cutting calculations.
  • Ability to set and adjust machine settings, cutting dimensions, fences, guides and blade height.
  • Knowledge of blade selection, blade condition and basic blade maintenance.
  • Ability to identify and minimize cutting errors and material wastage.
  • Basic knowledge of machine troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
  • Understanding of machine safety procedures and PPE requirements.
  • Ability to use measuring tools such as measuring tape, scale, vernier/caliper and measuring gauges.
  • Knowledge of edge quality, chipping prevention and accurate panel sizing.
  • Ability to maintain cutting records and production reports.
  • Basic understanding of modular furniture manufacturing processes.
